viltrox 85mm F1.8 AF lensfor Canon RF with sample pictures

Viltrox just announced viltrox 85mm F1.8 AF lensfor Canon RF Just a week ago, it is the first AF lens for Canon’s mirrorless camera mount from viltrox, and it it seems that there is still no review came out for this lens.

Viltrox has it’s 85mm F1.8 for fuji X , sony E and Nikon Z mount already in the past 2 years, and I have seen a lot of review on these lens, have to admit that they are doing great considering the price.

Price is 399 USD on Amazon.com and 369 USD on pergear – the distributor of viltrox. And there is no surprice for the 399 USd since other mount all with the same price.

Viltrox has provide some images of night view, but sure it is not good to showcase a portrait lens, I managed to get some portrait from viltox 85mm canon RF lens, and it seems great for me.

Will viltrox get sued by Canon ?

Some folks says they are wondering if Viltrox will get sued by Canon like Samyang did, but viltox has released tons of lens for Fuji , Sony and Nikon camera, nothing happened. And viltrox also prepare a USB-C port for firmware update, so if any upgrade from Canon, they will do update as well to keep up.

It is said that the reason why Sanyang ceased productio for Canon lenses is because they have beening doing business together in China, so Canon just asked Sanyang to stop making and selling Canon lens anymore, no lawsuit. Sanyang had to choose weather to break cooperation with Canon or not, continue to make Canon RF product. But apprarently Sanyang made it’s decision.

If buying third party lenses and fear about compatibility in the future then you all should consider before buy them. But if you want try the lens with amazingly but not with enough budget then go and buy them.
