There is no suprise that Godox finally released the updated version for Godox SL60w LED light, since it is the most popular budget LED ever in recent years, and the 60w light from Neewer is also a rebrand from Godox SL60w. It is budget ( only 139 USD) and get the job done, but the most annoying part is the fan noise is too loud so the microphone will catch the sound 4 feet alway. Also it is only AC powered so you can’t take it out for shooting. For whom don’t know Godox, see my other post” who are Godox“.
So here comes the Godox ML60 W , the first impression , Wow, it copy from Godox AD300 PRO flash light which was released early March, 2020. It is probably bacause it sells a lot and Godox decide to use the same material and design in appearance.
Size of Godox ML60:
145*88*88 mm compared to 230*240*140 mm of Godox SL 60W
Weight of Godox ML60:
0.77kg compared to 1.61kg of Godox SL 60 W. It is extremly light weight and you can hold it in one hand and put it in your pocket, only half the weight of Godox SL 60w.
AC and Battery powered two NP-F970 batteries
Also it provides a carrying case so you can carry it on field work.
Godox -mount instead of Bowens
This is the only part I don’t like, it seems Godox want to ptomote it’s own accessaries like Godox S2 bracket and other Godox softbox and so on. Not so many people pocess the Godox mount accessaries, they have to buy a Godox S 2 or S bracket to use a Bowens mount softobx and other accessaries.
